We are looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to join the Process and Equipment Excellence Team. As part of Strategy and Technology - Operations Innovation, you will deliver strategic manufacturing process performance improvements across Medtronic’s manufacturing plant enterprise. Your focus will be on developing and executing a manufacturing workflow capacity model to help plants understand current and future capacity constraints, based on zero loss methods. Key deliverables include deploying the model across the enterprise, identifying continuous improvements, and supporting capacity expansion requests.

This role can be based anywhere, with a preference for being near a large manufacturing plant.

A Day in the Life
  • Balance tactical capacity modeling and strategic process rollout.
  • Conduct value stream studies to understand capacity and bottlenecks, delivering improvement recommendations.
  • Lead event-based capacity modeling engagements for high-priority workstreams.
  • Assess investment proposals and make recommendations for capacity expansion projects.
  • Present reports and recommendations to manufacturing leaders and leadership teams.
  • Manage and improve capacity modeling standards and tools, and oversee their rollout.
  • Align capacity modeling activities with business planning and investment processes.
  • Develop and deliver training on capacity modeling tools and best practices.
  • Mentor and promote technical rigor within the manufacturing engineering community.
Must Haves

Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of capacity modeling experience OR an advanced degree with 2+ years of experience.

Nice to Have
  • Advanced technical degree and/or MBA.
  • Proficiency with time study, line balance analysis, MS Excel, Power BI, VBA, SQL.
  • Experience with value stream mapping, Kaizen events, and capacity evaluation.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, domestically and internationally.
  • Knowledge of performance metrics like OEE, OOE, TEEP.
  • Six Sigma/Lean Certification.
  • Experience in regulated environments (medical device, pharma, aerospace).
  • Understanding of medical device regulations (ISO-13485, FDA CFR Part 820).
  • Knowledge of GMP and quality systems.

Benefits & Compensation

Medtronic offers a competitive salary and benefits package, supporting employees at every career and life stage. Salary range in the U.S. (excluding PR): $96,800 - $145,200, plus incentives and benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more. Benefits vary by location and employment status.
