As a leader and contributor with vision, you will provide technology expertise, solutions, and help improve by recruiting and hiring top engineering talent. You will work with product owners to articulate the benefits of proposed solutions, influence the technical roadmap, and help prioritize work. This position requires a passion for technology strategy and adoption, including digital technologies, cloud hosting, and open-source software.

Responsibilities

1. Guide software engineering teams responsible for designing and delivering high-quality software for critical business features, built on native cloud technology to the latest standards.
2. Collaborate with Architecture, Data, Product, and Enterprise teams to advance these products and platforms.
3. Define patterns and deliver technology enabling configuration-based deployments using standard pipelines for consumer experiences within Anywhere.
4. Establish best practices for logging and monitoring production consumer systems to ensure success based on business expectations.
5. Work with product owners to articulate benefits of solutions, influence the technical roadmap, and assist in prioritizing work.
6. Research, implement, and promote standard processes; share knowledge across teams and the organization.
7. Define and pursue an end state focused on simplicity and the adoption of digital technologies, cloud hosting, and open-source software.
8. Assist in designing new applications or estimating effort for development and design tasks.
9. Provide technology thought leadership and help raise the talent bar through recruiting top engineering talent.
10. Address issues impacting design, sales, future concepts, products, or technologies.
11. Handle complex issues across business and functional areas, often involving abstract ideas.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years’ experience in Software Engineering, Development, Design, DevOps, and some solution/data architecture with hands-on expertise.
• At least 4+ years managing and developing software engineering teams.
• Experience building services using cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• 8+ years with the MEAN Stack: Angular, NodeJS, Express, MongoDB Atlas.
• 8+ years as a Node.js developer creating microservices and RESTful services.
• 4+ years in DevOps and deploying pipelines to production.
• Strong beliefs in thorough testing, resiliency, monitoring, documentation, and collaboration.
• Deep knowledge of solution patterns and frameworks for delivering solutions.
• Effective communication with product, business, and management teams.
• Proven project management, financial, and vendor management skills.
• Understanding of organizational goals and objectives.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and processes.
• Values truth-seeking and evidence over ego.
