In this position...

As a Software Engineering Leader at Ford Pro Intelligence, you will lead a dynamic team of engineers in the development and delivery of cutting-edge software solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological direction of our products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and a passion for innovation.

Responsibilities

What you'll do…

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, UX/UI Design, and Data Science, to define and execute the product roadmap.
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Develop and implement engineering best practices, coding standards, and processes to enhance productivity and code quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Act as a technical expert and provide strategic guidance on architectural decisions and technology choices.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging experimentation and exploration of new technologies and methodologies.
  • Manage resource allocation and project prioritization to align with business objectives and deliverables.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or a combination of education and work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering (primarily cloud)
  • 8+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing software engineering teams and successfully delivering complex software projects.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and modern software architectures (e.g., microservices, serverless).

Even better, you may have…

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Passion for innovation and staying current with industry trends and technologies.
  • You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:
• Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
• Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
• Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more
• Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases
• Tuition assistance
• Established and active employee resource groups
• Paid time off for individual and team community service
• A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day
• Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.
