Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of professional software experience, including 4+ years in engineering management.
• Proven leadership of software teams, hiring and performance management; strong web stack skills (TypeScript/React/.NET/Azure).

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space.

This leader will guide a software engineering organization responsible for delivering business-critical capabilities in a highly regulated environment. The role will focus on setting direction, aligning priorities to business impact, and creating the operating rhythm needed to help teams execute effectively at scale. You will partner closely with product, design, and other cross-functional leaders to strengthen delivery, remove barriers, and keep the team focused on long-term impact.

You will also shape a healthy and high-performing engineering culture by hiring, developing, and retaining talent while maintaining strong team morale and psychological safety.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $126,000 – $210,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute across multiple workstreams, setting and holding the team accountable to goals
• Prioritize project investments and refocus efforts based on business impact
• Run efficient operating cadences within a scaled agile environment, minimizing unnecessary work
• Unblock the team by addressing root causes of issues
• Define a vision for the authentication platform that aligns with company priorities and engage cross-functional partners
• Attract, hire, and retain a diverse engineering team focused on long-term health
• Build deep cross-functional relationships and facilitate effective communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including 4+ years in engineering management
• Experience leading software engineering teams with a focus on hiring and performance management
• Strong technical foundation in modern web stacks and cloud platforms, particularly TypeScript, React, .NET, and Azure
• Proven ability to operate in a scaled agile environment, such as SAFe
