Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation seeks a Sr Manager, Software Development & Engineering to lead the automated CI/CD framework for Advisor Services Technology (AST) applications. You will drive build and deployment support across AST and collaborate with architects to improve delivery efficiency on our on-site teams in Austin.

You will mentor engineers, advance DevOps practices, and translate complex requirements into scalable pipelines while ensuring security and quality in delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of real world experience in one or more object-oriented languages (C# or Java)
• Experience developing REST APIs and Microservices using .NET (C# and Entity Framework) or Java (Spring Boot)

As a Sr Manager, Software Developing & Engineering, you will develop and institute an automated and repeatable Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) framework for our application suite in Advisor Services Technology (AST) organization. You will also be responsible for providing ongoing build and deployment support for AST. While traditional IT requires a background that’s suited to be an order taker of requirements and deliverables, SAvE engineers also satisfy the need for innovative thinkers who can architect creative solutions and identify opportunities for new tools, processes, and systems across AST and our partners. At its core, the role of a SAvE team member is being responsible for integrating multiple systems, collaborating with AST to build and deploy applications, and implementing improvements to drive operational efficiencies. Partner with Lead Developers and Architects in development of pilot initiatives and integrate with automation pipelines for enhancing software delivery performance. Understand technological trends and practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business needs and operating models

What you have

Required:

• 8+ years of working knowledge and CI/CD experience with tools: GitHub, GitHub Actions and Bamboo
• 8+ years of demonstrated real world experience in one or more object-oriented languages (C# or Java)
• Experience developing REST APIs and Microservices applying design patterns using one or more of technologies using .NET (C# and Entity Framework) or Java (with Spring Boot).
• Experience in integration of automation tools for enhancing software quality and security using SonarQube, Veracode, Black Duck, CodeQL
• Working knowledge of microservice architectures, and deployment strategies like Big Bang, Blue/Green, Canary
• Understanding of software theory and algorithms, software engineering lifecycle/design, database design and data storage, network security and architecture, operating systems, and ethical programming
• Excellent debugging skills across a variety of integrated platforms
• Demonstrated scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash and Python
• Experience with Linux and Windows system administration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with one or more databases, Oracle, SQL, Mongo.
• Advocate of CI/CD tools and processes, and ability to mentor and guide cross-functional team to reach their highest potential.
• Experience in producing technical design documentation and reviewing with architects.
• Certification in one of public cloud platforms GCP, Azure, AWS, and cloud platform experience
• Ability to applyArtificial Intelligencetechnologies and AI-enabled tools to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and innovation outcomes is desired
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred:

• Financial industry experience is a plus.
• Preferred experience with GitHub Custom Actions for ensuring consistency and standardization of workflow templates
• Experience in developing automation pipelines and cloud migrations with Public Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
