Job summary

BILL is seeking a Senior Manager to lead our Workday team, overseeing system management, optimization, and support across the organization. You will guide a team of Workday specialists, mentoring and fostering a high‑performing environment.

Responsibilities include configuring and maintaining HCM, Benefits, Compensation, and Payroll modules; ensuring data integrity; collaborating with People Operations and Total Rewards; and driving agile initiatives, security, and reporting to empower business

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Workday administration, configuration, and support.
  • Deep knowledge of Workday HCM, Benefits, Compensation, and Payroll.
  • Strong HR process understanding and Agile team leadership.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a Workday team with performance coaching and career development.
  • Oversee configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of Workday modules (HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll).
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within Workday.
  • Collaborate with People Operations, Total Rewards, and partners to implement solutions.
  • Lead in Agile environments and implement Workday policies and best practices.
  • Manage Workday security roles and user access.
  • Act as primary contact for Workday inquiries and escalate as needed.
  • Stay current with Workday releases and assess impact.
  • Prioritize Workday projects and provide end-user training and support.
  • Coordinate with People Analytics for reporting and dashboards.

Senior Manager, Workday

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Manager to lead our Workday team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Workday system management, optimization, and support, ensuring its effective utilization across the organization. The Senior Manager will lead a team of Workday specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and high‑performing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of Workday professionals, including performance management, coaching, and career development.
  • Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of Workday modules, including HCM, Benefits, Compensation, and Payroll.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within Workday.
  • Collaborate with various departments (e.g., People Operations, Total Rewards, People Business Partners, etc.) to understand their Workday needs and implement solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile and confident in leading a team using Agile principles.
  • Develop and implement Workday‑related policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage Workday security roles and permissions, ensuring appropriate access levels.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for Workday system inquiries and issues, escalating to Workday support as needed.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with Workday releases and new functionalities, assessing their impact and potential benefits to the organization.
  • Manage and prioritize Workday projects and initiatives.
  • Provide training and support to end‑users on Workday functionalities.
  • Work with People Analytics to ensure data is available for reporting and dashboards.
Required Experience
  • Proven experience with Workday system administration, configuration, and support.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Workday HCM, Benefits, Compensation, and Payroll modules.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and data. Experience leading a team in an Agile development environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Workday reporting and analytics.
  • Experience with Workday security and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX).
Compensation & Benefits

Estimated salary ranges by location:

$156,400 – $195,700 USD (Zone 2 – CA (Non‑San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles County), Austin TX, Massachusetts)

$140,800 – $176,200 USD

$132,900 – $166,400 USD

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending and health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and additional company perks.
