You will own policy development, SOPs, and HRIS governance, while driving data quality and dashboards across systems.

The role leads HR compliance, supports CARF accreditation, and partners with HRBP and Compliance teams to address risk and associate relations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred; commensurate experience acceptable.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with compliance in HR.
  • Minimum 1 year leading a team of HR generalists/analysts.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred).

Job description

Lead HR governance, compliance, and data integrity to keep people operations reliable, auditable, and aligned with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain the associate handbook, ensuring it is acknowledged by all associates upon hire and whenever updates are issued.
  • Set a cadence for handbook and policy updates and ensure execution stays on schedule.
  • Finalize, maintain, and track HR policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and related organizational documents.
  • Partner with all GWH departments on people policy and procedure development to ensure HR compliance with federal, state, and local laws plus current GWH policies.
  • Manage internal communication for new HR policies and policy updates.
  • Build and support people data dashboards and visualizations to show human capital insights and enterprise impact.
  • Ensure accurate and timely HR data reporting across multiple HR systems.
  • Implement and maintain HR data quality controls, including regular data audits and corrective action when needed.
  • Oversee governance of HR information systems (HRIS), including data structures, access, controls, and workflows that support reporting needs.
  • Support fulfillment of new position requirements, including creating and approving job descriptions aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Manage job description lifecycle work: creation, revisions, and version control.
  • Support HR compliance with CARF accreditation and related regulatory standards.
  • Assist in preparing for and presenting HR materials during the accreditation process.
  • Develop and implement action plans to address areas not meeting HR operational or regulatory standards.
  • With HRBP and/or Corporate Compliance, review and support resolution of associates and risk-related relations issues in line with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Align performance with GWH goals and expectations to support human capital compliance.
  • Coordinate with GWH Legal and Corporate Compliance on EEOC, associate relations, and other employment-related claims.
  • Partner with Corporate Compliance and insurance providers on claims submitted through GWH’s liability insurance.
  • Work with all departments to identify improvement opportunities by solving HR and employee issues with associate-focused enhancements.
  • Identify people vulnerabilities and help develop and implement strategies to reduce risk and exposure.
  • Oversee the non-DOT random drug and alcohol testing program(s).
  • Complete or assist with labor law compliance.
  • Coordinate equal opportunity employment efforts with department leaders.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management to support evolving organizational needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with compliance in Human Resources, career services, and/or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year leading a team of HR generalists and/or analysts.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with working knowledge of BI and AI technology.
  • Experience with human capital management systems (Workday and/or other HRIS).
  • Resourceful, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge and experience writing SOPs and performing auditing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive personnel, financial, legal, and investigative matters.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for current or future employment. GWH does not offer visa sponsorship.

Position Summary
  • Ensure the integrity, compliance, and reliability of HR operations, data, and risk controls across the HR organization.
  • Serve as the architect and steward of HR Governance, ensuring HR data accuracy, policy and procedure control effectiveness, audit readiness, and management of people-related risks.
  • Drive continuous process improvement to reduce risk by enforcing regulations and complying with legal employment requirements, workforce standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and recommend new procedures to GWH leaders and associates.
  • Supervise: Compensation & Benefits, Shared Services, Data Integrity, and HR Compliance.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Retention Rate (annual leadership retention vs LY, 30-day new-hire retention vs goal, Annual Retention Rate vs LY)
  • Integrity of Human Capital Management Processes and Data, ensuring documentation is produced, available, and maintained
  • Customer Service (feedback from Department Heads, Customers, and GWH Associates)
  • HR Administration (HRIS system, dashboards and reporting, HR records, mandatory compliance training, and others)
  • Positive Feedback from associates, co-workers, and GWH SLT/ELT
