The role you will contribute:

The Senior Manager of Health Information Management (HIM) of Document Integrity is responsible for managing, leading, and implementing the activities and initiatives of the HIM team for document imaging and chart recovery processes, including chart recovery, reconciliation, scanning/storage, analysis, and medical record merging throughout the Central Florida Division-South (CFD-S). The role involves coordination, communication, change management, and sound business decision-making. Through effective leadership, the goal is to produce sustainable results while fostering an engaging atmosphere where all employees contribute to the team's success. Maintains and promotes confidentiality of employee, patient, administrative, and medical staff information, adhering to all applicable regulations and compliance standards. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all stakeholders.

• Provides guidance on Cerner document imaging and chart recovery processes across CFD-S.
• Collaborates with IT to develop, implement, and support electronic health records, ensuring best practices.
• Works with hospital administration, clinical departments, medical staff, and other related departments to support compliance and content integrity of medical records.
• Promotes confidentiality, integrity, and security of health records, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws (CMS, AHCA, DNV, NIAHO, etc.).
• Manages an operational budget (~$2.5M), overseeing equipment and IT resources.
• Contributes to strategic planning and system-wide initiatives, including process improvements and performance metrics.
• Supports performance improvement, patient safety, and quality of care initiatives.
• Engages in community relations activities and maintains positive relationships with hospital leadership and staff.
• Recruits, supports, mentors, and leads the department team, ensuring staffing efficiency and employee engagement.

Qualifications:

• Associate of Science Degree in Health Information Management or related field (required).
• 4+ years of HIM experience (required).
• Current registration with the American Health Information Management Association (required).
• Credentialed status of RHIA or RHIT (required).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management.
• Additional education qualifying for RHIA/RHIT exam.
• Self-motivation, leadership, adaptability, professionalism, and knowledge of HIPAA, DNV, NIAHO.
• Ability to manage budgets, lead teams, and improve processes effectively.
