Position Summary

The Senior Manager, eCommerce & Digital Marketing will help inform and execute the implementation of a 3-5 year ecommerce strategic plan designed to maximize sales and distribution of Club Coffee’s and ofi’s owned brands.

This role will leverage existing D2C marketplaces and owned web properties and create opportunities for expansion and growth of Club Coffee and ofi consumer-facing coffee and spice products in North America. They will manage platform expansion, opening new ecommerce marketplaces and points of distribution to maximize availability. They will drive sales growth and increase branded market share in North America. In addition, they will be tasked with the creation and day to day management of tactical promotional plans to grow consumer reach and awareness, attract new consumers, gain trial and consumer acquisition. They will effectively manage product catalogues, content, and branded assets across owned and third-party websites and marketplaces.

The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with finance and operations to manage budgets, MDFs, accruals, pricing, promotion, forecasting, demand planning, inventory requirements, chargebacks, and will ultimately own channel profitability. They will identify and execute against new opportunities to grow sales and market share, such as social selling and direct to consumer sales. They will further identify opportunities to create efficiencies and economies of scale and will effectively manage a portfolio of products, informing opportunities on category management, products, pack sizes, portfolio optimizations and rationalizations. As part of the Marketing Team, they will be required to develop strong brand and product knowledge, working with internal teams and agencies to create required branded content and imagery.

They will own the buyer relationship with external customers, and will own the path to purchase and fulfillment, which will include the creation. maintenance, and cross-functional communication of cross functional and processes. They will perform aggregated channel and individual customer business reviews annually at a minimum.

Additionally, this role supports knowledge and insights requirements and requests to support all-channel customer business reviews and other ad hoc requests from sales and marketing.

Position Responsibilities

  • Dashboard development, monitoring and management against eCommerce, digital marketing and brand management KPIs for Club Coffee and ofi coffee and spices businesses, including but not limited to sales trends, traffic, conversion, market share, CTR, ROAS, CPA, ROI, lifetime customer value, consumer sentiment and feedback, Likes, Shares, product contribution margin, and channel profitability.
  • Operation of digital ecosystem, including ecommerce channel system, social media, blogs, email campaigns, digital marketing, and content strategy.
  • Manage online product assortment, inventory control and replenishment, pricing, reviews, promotions, etc.
  • Manage, develop and grow relationships with key ecommerce retailers, such as Amazon, Walmart, Costco, Target, Sam’s Club, etc.
  • Set up and maintenance of owned web properties, third party websites and storefronts.
  • Create and execute high powered, cross-platform content strategies, including copywriting, email marketing, digital marketing, blogging, and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube).
  • Build engaging written and visual platform-specific branded content to grow consumer base, optimize fans, engage consumers and build community. Work with marketing to create marketing communication calendar and deliver positive ROI.
  • Plan and execute cross-platform community management functions.
  • Merchandise storefronts, including product search tagging and classification, sorting, navigation, categorization, filters and onsite search.
  • Manage product catalogue of assets, including descriptions, imagery, pricing, certifications and attributes for all online marketplace platforms.
  • Implement merchandising strategies for cross-selling and up-selling relevant products, aiming to increase visibility and sales – aligned with campaigns and brand positioning.
  • Generate and manage annual ecommerce sales and profitability plans.
  • Regularly monitor performance and recommend changes to marketing and trade tactics to achieve plan.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and business relationships to expand revenue, profitability and market share.
  • Implement and utilize analytics to track sales trends and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Increase share of ecommerce sales minimizing cannibalization of existing customers and channels.
  • Assist Marketing and Sales Management with the development of marketing strategies and advertising plans.
  • Monitor competition, maintain brand hierarchy MSRP matrix and execute pricing adjustments as required in conjunction with Marketing and Finance.
  • Negotiate annual agreements, promotional activity, listing fees, price increases and costing with customers.
  • Manage routine supply and demand with customers. Provide accurate annual forecast and monthly LE updates to Operations to support demand planning process.
  • Assist Marketing with annual budget - determine annual trade and digital marketing spend requirements.
  • Monitor trade activity execution and maximize trade investments and create efficiencies aligned to business objectives.
  • Ensure new products are listed and distribution gaps are filled.
  • Manage multiple brands and formats across coffee and spice portfolios, and any other portfolios, as assigned.
  • Understand and execute annual marketing plans.
  • Create Ad-hoc and regular reports to senior leadership on key plans and results (product launches, key promotions, major holidays, etc.).
  • Monitor consumer sentiment and feedback on products and brands and report on trends, opportunities, and concerns.
  • Prepare quarterly tracking reports and annual business reviews.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Account Management, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain teams to achieve corporate goals.
  • Keep up to date on online merchandising, marketing and promotional best practices and monitor competition.
  • Ensure all communications are compliant from an IP, legal & product perspective.
  • Support sales and marketing insights requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, eCommerce, and/or Social Media Marketing required, MBA preferred
  • Eight (8)+ years of experience in eCommerce and or Social Media Marketing, preferably in a Consumer Packaged Goods environment.
  • Strong problem solving skills required around resolution of customer/sales expectations and manufacturing or packaging capabilities with in anticipated price programs. Resolution of conflicts at 3rd Party distributors and/or national distribution contracts. Decisions are based on sales growth objectives, margin expectations, marketing spend/value expectations and contractual commitments or obligations.
  • Strong customer centricity
  • Strong background with Marketing and digital/ecommerce, management of Amazon, Walmart, Costco, and other marketplace / OMNI channel retail business. D2C experience an asset.
  • Experience with Word Press and Woo Commerce or similar enabled ecommerce sites.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time

The pay for this role in the state of Illinois ranges from $105,000 - $140,000 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or other determining factors.
