Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Sr Maintenance Technician to perform skilled and semi-skilled repairs on buildings, equipment, machinery, and grounds at a Cox location in Indianapolis. This on-site role focuses on maintenance, safety, and upkeep of facilities to support daily operations.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with related field experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Driver’s license required and safe driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Light electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC repair capabilities.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Regularly stand, walk, and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain buildings, property, equipment and landscaping for the site.
  • Perform minor repairs and general maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Carry out routine carpentry work for buildings and offices.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts in machines and equipment.
  • Operate snow removal equipment for parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities meet safety standards.
  • Keep buildings and areas clean and organized.
  • Follow safety procedures and support Safety Excellence initiatives.
  • Overtime may be required as business needs dictate.

The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Description

This position is responsible for performing various skilled and semi-skilled duties in the repair and maintenance of buildings, equipment, machinery, and grounds.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain all buildings, property, equipment, and landscaping for the site.
  • Perform minor repairs and general maintenance on heating and air conditioning system.
  • Perform routine carpentry work in the repair and maintenance of buildings, offices, etc.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts, in machines and equipment.
  • Operate snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Maintain all buildings, property and equipment for the site.
  • Ensure all equipment is working correctly and under standards for recon department.
  • Ensure all buildings are kept clean.
  • Empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and comply with applicable safety rules.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
  • Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e., moving furniture, unloading and storing supplies, etc.
  • May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 3 years’ experience.
  • 7 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Safe driver’s needed.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Skill and knowledge to perform light electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC repairs required.
  • Good communication and organizational skills required.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
  • Medium strength.
  • Ability to lift 1-50 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
