Job summary

Under Armour in Baltimore seeks a Sr. Lead, HRBP to drive talent strategy and people initiatives across the business unit. You will partner with regional leaders, lead succession planning, performance management, organizational design, and development, while coaching HR staff and aligning with corporate policy.

The role requires 7+ years in HR, knowledge of employment law, and a track record of influencing leaders. Hybrid schedule and travel up to 10% are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (required).
  • 7+ years of experience in HR or related field.
  • Retail/store HR experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law; CA and Canadian law a PLUS.
  • Proven experience with performance management, org design, leadership development, talent management, compensation and training.

Responsibilities

  • Supports retail stores across the US West region and the Canada region.
  • Partners with Regional Directors for these regions as a strategic HR partner.
  • Promotes positive employer-employee relations and high morale to drive UA culture.
  • Coaches and supports business partners in all HR areas.
  • Collaborates with HR specialists to build talent pipelines, benefits programs, and training.

Purpose of Role

The Sr. Lead, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for the full spectrum of HR practices for the business unit in which the HRBP is embedded to include; talent strategy, succession planning & performance management, talent acquisition, organizational design and effectiveness, training & development, associate relations, compensation & benefits. As a member of the business unit, the HRBP will act as a liaison for the leadership team, HR specialists, and executive team.

Your Impact

  • Supports retail stores across the US West region and the Canada region and serves as a strategic partner to the Regional Directors for these regions
  • Promote and establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale; drive the UA culture through all levels of the business unit
  • Work closely with business unit leaders to assess in-house talent and create strategy to identify and retain current talent as well as attract outside talent to the business; prepare exit strategy for non-performers
  • Provide coaching and counseling to business partners in all areas of Human Resources
  • Proactively seek knowledge of both industry and functional specialty researching best practices, legal developments, emerging trends, technological advancements and benchmark comparison’s in order to create HR practices that are best in class
  • Engage HR specialists to create and deploy the following:
    • Consistent pipeline of internal and external talent for job openings
    • Proper application of benefits and rewards programs
    • Training and development programs to meet the needs of the business unit
    • Establishing wage and salary structure, pay policies
    • Compliance with applicable employment regulations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in Human Resources or related experience
  • Prior experience providing HR support to retail and/or store field employees required
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law; Experience with California and Canadian labor law a PLUS
  • Proven knowledge of all core HR processes including performance management, organization design, leadership development, talent management, compensation, succession planning, training, and organizational development
  • Prior experience promoting an atmosphere which inspires teammates to excel and develop
  • Prior experience leading talent strategy reviews, employee retention, and identification of high potential external resources
  • Prior experience providing confidential counseling and coaching to all levels of the organization; exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • Proven experience working well with others to maintain and build cross-functional (internal and external) relationships
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; prior experience clearly expressing complex ideas and strong presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner
Workplace Location
  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD
    • Note: This teammate will be supporting a large population of our Central-based employees
  • Work-Life Designation: Hybrid schedule, four (4) days per week in-office.
  • Travel: Up to 10%
  • Licenses/Certifications: PHR or SPHR certification preferred

Base Compensation

$140,000.00-$180,000.00 USD Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
