Ladders seeks a Sr. Lead Counsel, Privacy to join as a senior legal partner for privacy matters across product development, Trust & Safety, and data-driven features in a fast-paced consumer technology environment.

You will help shape privacy-by-design practices, support global compliance efforts, and develop governance frameworks enabling responsible innovation while working remotely.

Formación

• Licensed to practice law with at least 10 years of experience.
• Experience counseling privacy for Trust & Safety and Product teams in fast-paced environments.
• Experience leading DPIAs and privacy risk assessments with cross-functional teams.
• Background in privacy product counseling in ads and data processing agreements.
• Strong judgment and ability to operate independently on sensitive matters.
• Excellent communication skills to influence cross-functional teams.

Responsabilidades

• Provide comprehensive privacy counseling from design to launch for products and features.
• Advise on global privacy issues in Trust & Safety, including content moderation and user reporting.
• Counsel on GDPR, ePrivacy, and CCPA with focus on online safety and accountability.
• Lead privacy risk assessments and collaborate on mitigations with stakeholders.
• Operationalize privacy-by-design in systems and workflows across teams.
• Develop scalable governance frameworks and review processes for privacy management.
• Guide on third-party vendor arrangements and international data transfer compliance.

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Lead Counsel, Privacy to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will serve as a senior legal partner on privacy matters across product development, Trust & Safety, and data-driven features in a fast-paced consumer technology environment. The position will guide cross-functional teams on how to build, launch, and scale products while managing privacy, regulatory, and operational risk. You will help shape practical privacy-by-design practices, support global compliance efforts, and develop governance frameworks that enable responsible innovation.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $178,255 – $366,996 annually

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive privacy counseling from design to launch for products and features
• Advise on global privacy issues in Trust & Safety, including content moderation and user reporting
• Counsel on key legal frameworks like GDPR, ePrivacy, and CCPA, with a focus on online safety and accountability
• Lead privacy risk assessments and collaborate on practical mitigations with stakeholders
• Operationalize privacy-by-design in systems and workflows across teams
• Develop scalable governance frameworks and review processes for efficient privacy management
• Guide on third-party vendor arrangements and international data transfer compliance

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in your jurisdiction with at least 10 years of experience
• Proven experience in privacy counseling for Trust & Safety and Product teams in fast-paced environments
• Experience leading or supporting DPIAs and privacy risk assessments with cross-functional teams
• Background in privacy product counseling in the tech sector, particularly with ads and data processing agreements
• Strong judgment and ability to operate independently on sensitive matters
• Excellent communication skills to influence and align cross-functional teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and a solutions-oriented mindset
