Qualifications

• JD with admission to a state bar and 8+ years of data privacy law experience.
• Deep knowledge of data privacy laws including CCPA, TCPA, CAN‑SPAM.
• Experience advising on direct‑to‑consumer product and marketing initiatives from a privacy standpoint.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence diverse stakeholders on compliance.
• Skilled in drafting and negotiating data protection agreements.
• Healthcare sector experience in direct‑to‑consumer context is advantageous.
• Adaptable to fast‑paced environments and capable of managing unfamiliar tasks.

For our client, we are seeking a Privacy Counsel II to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will provide strategic privacy and data security counsel across product, marketing, and operational initiatives in a fast‑paced, direct‑to‑consumer healthcare environment. The attorney will help shape compliance strategy, guide cross‑functional teams through evolving privacy requirements, and support programs that balance business growth with legal and regulatory risk. It is a hands‑on position for a privacy professional who can advise stakeholders, draft key agreements, and help drive practical solutions across the organization.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $164,000 – $263,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Counsel on privacy assessments and product‑related issues, evaluating business implications and legal risk
• Develop training materials and resources to provide current privacy guidance to various teams
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert, offering strategic legal advice on data privacy and security matters
• Monitor and advise on new privacy laws and regulations, leading policy development and compliance efforts
• Review marketing initiatives to ensure adherence to data protection laws
• Lead privacy program initiatives and risk management projects, ensuring accountability for outcomes
• Draft and negotiate privacy and data security terms in contracts with partners and vendors
