Job summary

Confidential Client, a leading technology company delivering cloud-based communications, seeks a senior privacy and consumer protection attorney. This remote role supports U.S. and international initiatives (GDPR, CPRA, HIPAA, COPPA, PIPEDA) and collaborates across regulatory and product teams in Mountain or Pacific time zones.

Requirements include a J.D. from an accredited school and California Bar membership, 5+ years in-house and law firm experience, and deep knowledge of U.S.

Job description

• Lead U.S. and international privacy and consumer protection initiatives, including GDPR, CPRA, HIPAA, COPPA, and PIPEDA.
• Develop and maintain privacy policies, governance frameworks, and compliance programs.
• Advise on AI, data governance, and emerging technology regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active California State Bar membership.
• At least 5 years of legal experience combining in-house and law firm roles.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and international privacy laws, with experience before the FCC and FTC.
• Anticipated base salary range of $195,000–$240,000 depending on experience and location.

Location:

• Remote role open to candidates in Mountain or Pacific time zones.
• Minimal travel required (4x/year to headquarters) for those outside the Bay Area.
