Job summary

Labcorp in Holyoke, MA seeks a Senior Reference Test Clerk to join our team. The role involves acting as a liaison between reference testing labs, clients, and patients, and handling multiple databases to resolve complex issues with accuracy and professionalism.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with 3+ months of specimen processing and laboratory experience, and offers a daytime Monday–Friday schedule with potential overtime, benefits, and opportunities to grow within

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between the reference testing labs, clients, and patients.
• Resolve internal & external customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email communications.
• Communicates with customers in respectful and professional manner.
• Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.
• Provide customer education and information as needed.
• Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
• Transcribe reports from reference labs into Labcorp systems.
• Utilize various logistics providers to ship to multiple locations around the country.
• Prepare & triage specimens for analysis.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday and rotating weekends (4am-12:30pm)

Job Responsibilities

• Act a liaison between the reference testing labs, clients, and patients

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience

• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Pay Range: $20.75-$24.75/hr. + Shift Differential

• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
