Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and deliver scalable cloud-based applications and analytics solutions. You will work with engineers, product managers, and architects to ensure high-quality software and scalable deployments.

This hybrid role requires 2-3 days per week in Sunnyvale, CA or Bentonville, AR, with a focus on performance, observability, and strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Data JPA.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or similar technologies.
• Strong experience with Kafka or other enterprise messaging and event-streaming platforms.
• Experience designing and building large-scale, high-volume, distributed applications.
• Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies and Scrum practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and deployment technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate effectively with business and engineering stakeholders.
• Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

About the Role

As a Senior Java Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and delivering scalable cloud-based applications and analytics solutions that support high-volume business operations. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with technical leads, product managers, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.

In This Role, You Will:

What You Need to Have to Be Considered

Salary and Other Compensation

Applications will be accepted until September 25th, 2026.

The annual salary for this position is between $46,000 and $93,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
