This role involves managing financial applications, supporting IT projects, and collaborating with various departments to optimize healthcare financial systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary IT resource for financial applications such as registration, scheduling, patient portal, coding, billing, collections, accounts payable, general ledger, budget, supply chain, human and capital management, utilizing applications from vendors like Axiom, Meditech, Medisolv, Microsoft, UKG, among others.
- Managing IT and multi-department projects using project management tools to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Advising and guiding IT staff on operational and technical aspects of the business and computing environments.
- Building and maintaining relationships with staff across various departments.
- Learning and maintaining expertise in assigned software applications, aiming for certification or mastery.
- Recommending learning opportunities for IT staff, customers, and self-development.
- Leading and participating in projects with standard project management methodologies.
- Assisting data analysts with identifying data elements for reporting and interfaces.
- Creating and maintaining documentation such as system requirements, design, procedures, training materials, flow diagrams, and test plans.
- Training users on new functions, customizations, and upgrades, and helping develop training materials and policies.
- Providing excellent customer service to users, colleagues, management, and vendors.
- Supporting management in developing and revising service level agreements and operational procedures.
- Documenting progress and issues in tracking systems, communicating updates, and escalating as needed.
- Participating in business process re-engineering to align workflows with system functionality.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years supporting hospital revenue cycle IT applications, 2 years supporting general accounting/fiscal services, and 1 year supporting human capital management systems.
- Preferred certifications include PMP, HIMSS membership, and healthcare IT certifications.
