What You Will Do:

The Applications Engineer supports our growing sales and design efforts by developing custom cooling packages and heat exchanger solutions utilizing API technology and product lines for the data center market. This role requires an independent thinker with strong time management and communication skills.

• Design custom cooling packages and solutions based on heat transfer, fluid flow, and heat exchanger performance knowledge to meet customer needs.
• Evaluate aluminum bar plate air coolers, shell & tube, and plate heat exchangers for heat transfer and fluid flow performance, providing cooling system solutions for OE customers.
• Use API technology simulation software to design heat exchangers meeting customer performance requirements.
• Generate cost estimates, quotations, and follow-up activities to facilitate new business.
• Collaborate with other departments, manufacturing, project engineers, and data center teams to ensure timely delivery of models meeting customer specifications.
• Provide onsite customer technical sales and cooling test support.
• Monitor field feedback and initiate product improvements when appropriate.
• Support post-award activities to ensure products meet customer requirements.
• Participate in engineering and new product initiatives.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in heat exchanger technology.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field; specialization in heat transfer preferred.
• At least 1 year of applications engineering experience.
• Familiarity with heat exchanger sizing and performance simulation software.
• Ability to quickly learn and operate API simulation software for heat exchanger performance.
• Product knowledge of aluminum bar & plate, shell & tube, and plate heat exchangers.
• Experience with new product development processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of the data center industry is a plus.
