Job summary

FastTek Global is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure DBA in Okemos, MI to monitor day-to-day Oracle databases, manage space, tune performance, perform backups, patching, and on-call rotations for VLDB workloads over 50TB.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years Oracle DBA experience, Exadata, RMAN, Active Data Guard, RAC, and scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash). OLTP and Data Warehouse experience is required; Exadata Cloud@Customer is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years Oracle DBA experience supporting databases > 30TB.
• Expert scripting skills in Bash, KSH, PowerShell or Python.
• Strong in Active Data Guard, RMAN, and RAC.
• Experience with Exadata database platform.
• Experience supporting OLTP and Data Warehouse environments.

Okemos, Michigan Sr. Infrastructure DBA #1061050

Description:

Monitors the day-to-day activities of production and non-production database systems to ensure smooth operation of all environments. This includes space administration within the database and at the operating system level to ensure the database systems perform properly and without disruption. Additionally support performance tuning, backup and recovery, patching, database refreshes and other tasks as needed.

The candidate must have strong Oracle DBA and SQL skills including experience with Exadata, RMAN, Active Data Guard, RAC, OEM on a 19c or above platform. They will possess strong troubleshooting skills and are willing to support VLDB OLTP platforms of 50TB or greater as a part of a 24x7 on-call rotation. The ideal candidate will also have experience with Exadata Cloud@Customer along with other database technologies such as Postgres.

Must have Technical Skills:

• 8+ years of Oracle DBA experience supporting databases > 30TB
• Expert with scripting languages such as BASH, KSH, PowerShell or Python
• Highly proficient in active data guard, RMAN, and RAC
• Experience supporting Exadata database platform
• Experience supporting both OLTP and Data Warehouse environments
• Ability to work autonomously and with multiple teams when necessary to triage database system issues.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to solicit and formalize requirements and work with end users/customers
• Ability to work in a semi-structured environment where requirements and priorities are dynamic

Nice to have technical skills:

• Experience with Exadata Cloud@Customer
• Experience with agile development methodology
• Experience with Data Domain or Rubrik
• Experience in the insurance industry, specifically with the health care industry
