Job summary

Central Transport is seeking a capable Terminal Operations Supervisor to oversee inbound operations at the Lincoln, RI location. You will manage loading, forklift traffic, and unloading of palletized freight while guiding a team of drivers and dock staff to achieve production goals.

The ideal candidate has transportation/shipping experience with strong leadership, excellent communication, and a high aptitude for technology.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation/shipping environment, preferably LTL.
• Strong leadership qualities and ability to manage a team.
• High aptitude for technology and willingness to learn new systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound operations for the designated terminal dock section.
• Manage loading, forklift traffic, and unloading of palletized freight.
• Supervise up to 15 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Ensure proper carrier loading by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers and dock hands.
• Monitor dock production and KPI goals, hours, overtime, and safety compliance.

Salary: Up to $75,000 + bonus

Shift: 10:00am - 8:00pm, Monday-Friday

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• - Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• - Strong leadership qualities
• - Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• - High aptitude for technology
• - The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• - An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• - Oversee inbound operations for your designated section of the terminal dock
• - This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing the proper unloading of palletized freight.
• - Manage up to 15 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• - Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• - Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• - Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• - Monitor hours and overtime.
• - Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• - Ensure company operational model compliance.
• - Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
