Job summary

Central Transport is seeking an experienced operations supervisor for our Lincoln, RI terminal. You will oversee inbound dock operations, manage up to 15 drivers, and ensure safe, efficient loading and unloading while meeting KPI targets.

Ideal candidates have leadership experience in transportation or cross-docking, strong communication skills, and a solid tech aptitude to drive process improvements in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation, cross docking, or shipping/receiving (LTL preferred).
• Demonstrated leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound operations for your designated section of the terminal dock.
• Manage forklift traffic, loading/unloading of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 15 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedule.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and weight of trailers.
• Provide leadership to drivers, dock workers, and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production and KPI goals.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with safety standards.
• Support company operational model compliance.
• Promote a culture of excellence in service to customers.

Salary: Up to $75,000 + bonus

Shift: 10:00am - 8:00pm, Monday-Friday

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee inbound operations for your designated section of the terminal dock
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing the proper unloading of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 15 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
