Job summary

Celgard, LLC in Concord, NC is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to join the Maintenance team. You will operate, maintain, inspect and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing and Building Automation systems on site, ensuring reliable manufacturing conditions.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree in HVAC or related field, EPA 608 preferred, 10 years in industry, and ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights; strong collaboration and safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in HVAC or related field required.
  • EPA 608 License preferred; required if hired.
  • NC Electrician License preferred.
  • NC Fire Sprinkler Maintenance Technician License preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in an industrial HVAC environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights up to 30 ft.
  • Overtime and shift flexibility may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, inspect, test and repair HVAC systems in the plant.
  • Maintain electrical, plumbing and Building Automation System functions.
  • Understand cleanroom HEPA filtration and related requirements.
  • Use PIV equipment and document maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and follow safety guidelines.

This position directly reports to the Electrical Supervisor and does not supervise others.ShiftThis is a day shift position. Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm.QualificationsEducation Background:Associates degree in a technical related field, or completion of an accredited trade school in (HVAC) heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems or equivalent training requiredEPA Clean Air Section 608 License preferred – Will be required to complete it if hired.NC Electrician License preferredNC Fire Sprinkler Maintenance Technician License preferredSpecial courses in electrical, pneumatic, facility monitoring/control and power plant systems are preferred.Knowledge & Experience :10 years of experience in an industrial environment maintaining and repairing HVAC systems requiredAbility to troubleshoot a wide range of AC/DC electrical systems requiredAbility to repair and/or replace electrical components that make up HVAC systems required.Must be able to work at heights up to 30 feet, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend and twist in order to reach remote equipmentMust be able to work overtime as neededFlexibility to carry a cell phone for coverage and site wide communication. Also willing to work a 2nd or 3rd shift schedule when required.Proficiency with computers and computer applications (MS Office, Word, Excel)Ability to use special tools and equipment in order to install and maintain HVAC systems (tools include but are not limited to hammers, wrenches, electric drills, pipe cutters, metal cutters, benders, thermometers, pressure gauges, manometers, acetylene torches, and volt meters, etc)PIV equipment license (forklifts, man lifts, etc)Key Attributes:Have the ability to work on a high performing team, contributing to an environment where open and honest communication is the norm.Ability to build effective workplace relationships, motivating co-workers, and supporting co-worker development.Must be able to deal with conflict productively, bringing forth issues that need to be discussed and work to forge a mutually beneficial outcome.Must have the desire to be empowered & work in a collaborative environmentKey AccountabilitiesOperating, maintaining, inspecting, testing and repairing engineering facility systems.
