Job summary

K&N Engineering Inc. is seeking a Sr. HR Generalist to partner with manufacturing and distribution leadership across Grand Prairie, TX. You will handle employee relations, investigations, coaching, and performance management while supporting a high-volume, multi-shift workforce.

The role requires strong HR compliance knowledge, bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, proficiency with Paycom, and a hands-on approach on the production floors. Onsite position with a focus on safety and engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years supporting manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or industrial operations preferred.
  • Strong employee relations, investigation, coaching, and conflict resolution experience required.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance practices.
  • Experience supporting high-volume hourly workforces and multi-shift operations.
  • Ability to build credibility with employees, supervisors, managers, and senior leaders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain policies and expectations clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and HRIS or applicant tracking systems.
  • Paycom experience strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and supervisors across manufacturing and distribution operations.
  • Partner with operations leadership to support split-shift workforce coverage.
  • Conduct employee investigations involving policy violations, workplace concerns, attendance issues, safety matters, and complaints.
  • Coach supervisors on employee relations, corrective action, performance documentation, conflict resolution, and policy application.
  • Facilitate disciplinary processes and related documentation.
  • Manage or support full-cycle recruiting for onsite personnel, including onboarding.
  • Support new hire orientation and training on policy, safety, and attendance expectations.
  • Support performance management processes including goal setting and reviews.
  • Maintain HRIS records, personnel files, and employment documentation in compliance.
  • Assist with leave administration, accommodation, return-to-work, and status changes.
  • Support engagement, recognition, retention, and culture across all shifts.
  • Conduct stay and exit interviews to identify trends and improvements.

Job description

The Sr. HR Generalist serves as a strategic and hands-on HR partner supporting a manufacturing and distribution facility operating across multiple shifts. This position is responsible for employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, policy administration, investigations, compliance, employee engagement, and workforce development initiatives. The Sr. HR Generalist provides direct support to supervisors, managers, and employees while helping ensure consistent application of company policies, employment laws, and HR best practices. This role requires split-shift flexibility and regular visibility on the production and warehouse floors to effectively support both first and second shift employees.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and supervisors across manufacturing and distribution operations.Partner with operations leadership to support a split-shift workforce, including regular coverage of first and second shift employees.Conduct employee investigations involving policy violations, workplace concerns, attendance issues, safety-related matters, and employee complaints.Coach supervisors and managers on employee relations, corrective action, performance documentation, conflict resolution, and fair application of company policies.Facilitate disciplinary processes, including counseling, written warnings, suspensions, terminations, and related documentation.Manage or support full-cycle recruiting for onsite personnel (hourly, technical, administrative, and supervisory roles), including requisition management, interviews, offers, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding.Support new hire orientation and ensure employees receive effective policy, safety, attendance, and workplace expectation training.Support performance management processes, including goal setting, annual reviews, performance improvement plans, and employee development discussions.Maintain accurate HRIS records, personnel files, reports, and employment documentation in accordance with company and legal requirements.Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA-related HR processes, and partnership on workers compensation matters when applicable.Assist with leave administration, reasonable accommodation processes, return-to-work coordination, and employee status changes.Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, communication, and culture initiatives across all shifts.Conduct stay interviews, exit interviews, and other feedback processes to identify workforce trends and recommend solutions.Partner with Safety, Operations, Quality, Distribution, and Maintenance teams to support a safe, respectful, and productive work environment.Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and business information.Experience, Skills & Education:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience required.Minimum of 3 years supporting manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or industrial operations preferred.Strong employee relations, investigation, coaching, and conflict resolution experience required.Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance practices.Experience supporting high-volume hourly workforces and multi-shift operations.Ability to build credibility with employees, supervisors, managers, and senior leaders.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain policies and expectations clearly.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through with limited supervision.Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and HRIS or applicant tracking systems.Paycom experience strongly preferred.Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.Other Important Information:This is an onsite position supporting a manufacturing and distribution facility in Grand Prairie, TX.Schedule requires split-shift flexibility to provide HR coverage and visibility for both first and second shift employees.Regular presence on production and warehouse floors is required.Work environment includes machinery, warehouse activity, forklifts, dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
