Position Summary *This role is fully onsite
The HR Generalist will support all aspects of Human Resources in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the effective execution of HR programs, compliance with regulatory standards, and supports a safe, engaged, and high-performing workforce. The HR Generalist partners with leadership and employees to foster a positive workplace culture while aligning HR practices with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly production roles.
- Develop creative sourcing strategies to address high-volume/shift-based hiring needs.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs that emphasize safety, food compliance, and company culture.
- Maintain HRIS/ATS systems for accurate recruitment and retention tracking.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee concerns, escalating as necessary.
- Support engagement initiatives such as recognition programs. Needs to be engaged and have floor presence on a routine basis.
- Coach supervisors on effective employee communication, corrective action, and performance feedback.
- Partner with leadership to improve retention in critical workforce segments.
Training & Development
- Partner with the Training department and hiring managers for mandatory compliance training (safety, food handling, harassment prevention, etc.).
- Identify skill gaps and recommend training solutions to improve workforce capability.
- Support leadership development and succession planning efforts.
Compensation
- Ensure compliance with wage & hour rules, shift differentials, and overtime practices.
Compliance & Safety
- Advise managers and employees on HR policies and labor laws.
- Support OSHA and other regulatory audits and inspections.
- Partner with Safety/Operations on injury prevention.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
HR Operations
- Manage employee data, HRIS updates, and personnel files.
- Maintain Plant Roster as the accurate, up to date source of truth for workforce information.
- Maintain accountability for approved headcount as defined by the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- Prepare HR reports and metrics (turnover, absenteeism, headcount, etc.).
- Continuously recommend improvements to HR processes and policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of HR Generalist or related HR experience, ideally in food manufacturing or similar environment.
- Solid knowledge of HR laws and regulations (FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, EEO, etc.).
- Experience with HRIS (ADP Workforce Now) /ATS systems; proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively across shifts and departments.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. This is a fully onsite role.

Work is normally performed in a warehouse/production environment As part of the job requirements employee may be exposed to work in a production setting and cold temperature (-20 degrees) at times. Must be flexible with work schedule that supports a 24 hour production facility. Schedule may include weekends.
