Job description

Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid, requiring the successful candidate to report to the Charlotte Technical Center in Concord, NC at least three times per week.

The Role: The General Motors Human Resources Group seeks a highly motivated and qualified individual to support teams within Global Engineering. Located in Concord, NC, home to GM Motorsports and GM Defense, you will lead assigned HR functions, providing strategic direction that aligns with our objectives, mission, and culture. You will collaborate with business leaders to enhance relationships, build engagement, attract and retain talent, and work with Centers of Expertise on workforce planning.

Responsibilities:

  1. Build and execute change management and organizational development activities.
  2. Partner with executives and HR leaders to define talent management strategies.
  3. Collaborate with field representatives to complete HR functional work.
  4. Advise leaders on restructures, transformation efforts, job design, and workforce planning.
  5. Ensure HR service delivery is outstanding, consistent, and methodologically sound.
  6. Communicate HR policy changes to leaders and employees.
  7. Identify training and leadership development needs as part of systemic strategy.
  8. Act as a change agent in HR transformation initiatives.
  9. Develop innovative HR solutions based on industry trends.
  10. Analyze metrics to identify issues and develop relevant HR policies and programs.
  11. Understand legal requirements at the management level to reduce risks and ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or relevant HR experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a core HR support role.
  • Workday experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time.
