Bechtel partners with TerraPower’s Natrium team, a project funded by the U.S. Department of Energy to develop advanced nuclear reactors. TerraPower, founded by Bill Gates, is deploying a 345 MWe sodium fast reactor with innovative energy storage, capable of producing over 500 MWe, supporting a cleaner energy future.
Other partners include GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, Energy Northwest, PacifiCorp, and Duke Energy, along with national laboratories and universities. This initiative could be the largest federal funding for advanced nuclear in U.S. history, shaping the future of energy.
This role involves providing technical leadership in designing fire protection systems, evaluating safety techniques, and ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements. Collaboration with engineers and clients is essential.
This position is part-time telework, with at least three days per week in-person at the office or project site, scheduled in consultation with your supervisor.
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years of work experience.
