We are hiring: Senior Fire Protection / Life Safety Engineer

Location: Glen Allen, VA; Lexington, KY; Chantilly, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; or REMOTE

The Senior Fire Protection Engineer will lead fire protection and life safety efforts on challenging projects, overseeing compliance for entire projects, not just fire protection systems.

Responsibilities include:

1. Leading and directing project document production, including drawings, specifications, and support documents. Checking delegated work and leading construction phase activities such as submittals and RFIs.
2. Performing or guiding others in complex engineering calculations.
3. Mentoring and training junior engineers and designers.
4. Serving as the main client contact for life safety project responsibilities.
5. Supporting business development, including pursuit opportunities, fee proposals, and change orders.

Skills required:

• Ability to develop project and work plans, seek innovative solutions, and ensure code compliance.
• Experience in client relations and business development.
• Leadership skills to train and mentor staff and coordinate with other departments.
• Technical expertise in fire protection design, calculations, and code compliance.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering (Fire Protection preferred).
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional Fire Protection Engineer license.
• Eligibility for security clearance.
• Proficiency in MS Office, CAD/BIM.

Salary range: $104,480 - $156,720, based on experience and location. We offer a competitive benefits package including health coverage, paid maternity leave, parental and family leave, and other employee benefits.
