UMB’s Private Wealth Management team custom-tailors services for clients, incorporating financial planning, private banking, investment management, personal trust and lifestyle services, estate management and insurance services. As the Sr. Finan cial Planner, you will be working closely with the Wealth Advisors & Financial Advisors to design and develop financial planning analysis for presentation to clients. You will utilize financial planning software to number crunch and design plans. This is a hybrid role but is driven by client meetings. (Tues/Wed/ Thur on site).

How you’ll spend your time:

  • You will be p rimarily focused on servicing high value family client segments as a client-facing Wealth Planner .
  • You will serve as a s enior mentor for other financial planners on the team; regularly provides guidance and feedback on financial planning best practices .
  • You will act as a p oint of escalation within the team for resolving time sensitive client inquiries and handing complex client advice topics .
  • You will w ork collaboratively with other functions in Private Wealth to resolve escalations and complete special projects .
  • You will s erve as the main financial planning point of contact for clients .
  • You will be r esponsible for managing day to day client financial planning interactions, supporting wealth advisors across client advice topics .
  • You will e nsure clients have a positive financial planning experience that always exceeds their expectations .
  • You will s tay current on all tax rules, laws and regulations that could financially impact UMB clients .
  • You will b uild and maintain client relationships aimed at client retention and engagement .
  • You will be i ntimately involved in the new client prospect and onboarding process, partnering with client service to ensure client setup in eMoney .
  • You will m aintain and update Salesforce CRM and eMoney for all financial planning activities .
  • You will m anage client paperwork and electronic data files for all financial planning relationships .
  • You will u nderstand the client’s overall business needs and help identify value-added services that Private Wealth can provide .
  • You will r eview activities within the job scope for sufficient controls to prevent errors, breaches of client confidentiality, and misstatements of financial planning recommendations .
  • You will a ssist Wealth Advisors and other associates with planning related questions .
  • You will e nsure adherence to corporate policy, operational policy, and regulatory guidance .
  • Other duties as assigned .

  • You have 5+ years of applicable experience within Financial Services .
  • You hold the CFP or in pursuit of .
  • You have a good u nderstanding of financial services financial planning frameworks and concepts .
  • You are a ble to balance a client experience mindset when managing and controlling business risks .
  • You have e xperience in supporting financial planning data collection, entry, and process .
  • You have g eneral knowledge of compliance rules and regulations within wealth management .
  • You have e ffective financial research skills .
  • You have worked in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) .
  • You have worked with eMoney client portal and financial planning software .
  • You hold CFP or advanced designation .
  • You are FINRA Series 65 licensed .
  • You have Holistiplan and/or Vanilla planning experience .

Compensation Range:

$83,200.00 - $178,800.00
