Job summary

P.F. Chang’s Global Support Center in Scottsdale, AZ seeks a Senior FP&A Analyst to lead financial planning and analysis for the group. The role focuses on sales planning, cost of goods analysis, KPI establishment, and business partnership across Marketing and Purchasing.

You will oversee monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range plans, presenting insights to senior leadership and driving process improvements in FP&A tooling and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.
• 3+ years’ FP&A, finance or related experience required.
• Strong computer knowledge with financial systems and database applications (Excel, Access, SQL, PowerPoint, BI tools).
• Experience with MicroStrategy, Adaptive Insights, and/or APT is a plus.
• Ability to assimilate disparate systems to collect data for financial analysis; experience in restaurant/retail industry a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation of results to varying audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive weekly, monthly, and annual sales plans by synthesizing performance data and marketing input.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to forecast demand and identify waste reduction opportunities.
• Evaluate financial impact of menu changes and optimize profitability.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for food cost, waste, inventory, and product usage.
• Partner with Marketing to measure financial impacts of promotions and pricing actions.
• Coordinate FP&A inputs for monthly forecast, annual budget, and long-range planning.
• Prepare concise executive presentations on monthly results, forecasts, initiatives, and risks.

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Financial Analyst to join our Financial team at our Global Support Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.

What You’ll Do:

• Sales planning – Develop and drive the process and tools necessary to effectively compile weekly, monthly, and annual sales plans. Synthesize business performance, promotional plans, industry data, and Marketing team input to create and communicate an informed financial outlook.
• Cost of Goods Analysis – Work with Purchasing team to forecast demand. Coordinate with culinary team to identify opportunities to reduce waste and execute on the opportunity. Benchmark store performance vs other stores and the industry in general.
• Evaluate the financial impact of menu changes and recipe updates on product mix, and cost of goods sold to provide recommendations to optimize profitability.
• Establish and monitor KPIs and benchmarks for food cost, waste, product usage and inventory performance to highlight opportunities for improvement across restaurants
• Business partnership – Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to measure and capture financial impacts of promotional activity, pricing actions, menu changes, and other activities.
• Monthly forecast /annual budget/long-range plan oversight – Coordinate FP&A inputs to the overall P&L planning process. Review for reasonability given the state of the business and industry, performance targets, long-term initiatives, etc.
• Executive communications – Organize FP&A team inputs to create succinct, cohesive presentations to best inform senior leadership teams of monthly results, forecast updates, initiative performance, and business risks and opportunities.
• Process improvement – Continuously develop tools/systems and automate processes. Evaluate current processes and implement improvements.
• Project support and ad hoc requests – Develop and present value-added analyses to identify actionable insights and recommendations as needed.

What You’ll Bring:

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Requires 3+ years’ experience in FP&A, finance or a related area.
• Requires strong computer knowledge including financial systems and database applications such as Excel, Access, SQL, PowerPoint, data warehousing, data mining, business intelligence, and other systems. Experience with MicroStrategy, Adaptive Insights, and/or APT a plus.
• Ability to assimilate disparate systems to collect data in order to perform financial analysis.
• Demonstrated understanding of business operations including ability to analyze and perform root cause analysis on business trends and detailed data. Restaurant or Retail industry experience a plus.
• Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present results to audiences at various levels throughout the organization.

Location

This is primarily an office-based position located at the P.F. Chang’s Global Support Center in Scottsdale, Arizona 85255. Candidates must currently reside in the greater Phoenix area and live within a reasonable commuting distance of the office.
