A Brief Overview

The Field Services Technician II is responsible for providing work direction to field technicians responsible for onsite installation, configuration, repair, and maintenance for a variety of end user and network devices at SHC locations across the San Francisco Bay Area. The technician will also provide L2/L3 support as needed and collaborate with the SHC Service Desk and desktop engineering teams to identify and resolve recurring issues.

What you will do

  • Monitor technician activity across SHC field locations, optimize support, and provide escalated technical assistance as needed.
  • Collaborate with desktop and network engineering teams to diagnose and resolve recurring incidents.
  • Address escalated service issues, communicate with IT customers, and coordinate support efforts.
  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and share findings with relevant teams.
  • Provide professional service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
  • Oversee onsite installation, configuration, repair, and maintenance of various devices and peripherals.
  • Conduct basic onsite network troubleshooting, port management, and hardware/software updates.
  • Assist in diagnosing problems beforehand, managing parts, and documenting issues to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with OEM vendors for parts or assistance when necessary.
  • Support and set up during special events at SHC locations.
  • Maintain accurate updates in Asset Management systems, track asset data, and manage asset audits and exceptions.
  • Ensure compliance with process standards and manage remedial actions as needed.
  • Build relationships with vendors, assist in procurement, and participate in bid gathering and negotiations.

Education Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree or advanced certifications (e.g., MOS, MCSA Office 365)

Experience Qualifications

  • At least five years of related work experience, preferably in healthcare IT.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with Windows, Mac OS, and common applications.
  • Proficiency with hardware systems from HP, Dell, Tangent, Apple; OEM certification or 3+ years on at least two hardware types.
  • Knowledge of tablets, printers, monitors, network devices, Cisco routers, switches, wireless access points, LAN/WAN equipment.
  • Certifications: MCSA Windows 7/8, CompTIA A+; preferred: CCIE, CCNA, CCNP, etc.
  • Excellent customer service, communication skills, and fieldwork accuracy.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Driver’s License – Any US State.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $42.49 - $55.24 per hour. The final salary depends on various factors including experience, education, and training. This scale does not guarantee a specific wage.
