Job description

This position is responsible for the detailed engineering design and overall project management of upstream facilities projects and electrical systems as required to develop oil and gas infrastructure in the company's Utica Basin asset. The role regularly interfaces with reservoir, planning, drilling, completions, water resources, production, supply chain, accounting, land, legal, regulatory, marketing, environmental, and safety teammates as well as electrical, construction and production field team. Position will be in EOG's Oklahoma City office. Periodic travel to field locations in Ohio will be required. Ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in all facets of onshore facilities design, with a strong emphasis on electrical, automation and controls. Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a safety leader within the division organization.
  • Design and optimize high, medium, and low voltage systems for field development of upstream and midstream facility operations including oilfield tank batteries and compressor stations.
  • Model and plan power distribution systems fed from utility company.
  • Scope and oversee design of electrical sub-stations including interfacing with utility company as required.
  • Help troubleshoot and reduce harmonics and power quality issues.
  • Serve as technical resource on power generation systems including application and selection of different technologies.
  • Provide technical assistance to field support personnel, electrical system studies, National Electrical Code interpretations.
  • Provide design and technical assistance for instrumentation, electrical, automation and controls.
  • Function as infrastructure manager for assigned area.
  • Develop and maintain hydraulic models for oil and gas infrastructure for assigned area. Manage detailed pipeline design, along with interfacing with land and regulatory teams to acquire ROW and permits.
  • Serve as project manager of the design, installation, expansion, and commissioning of central production facilities as well as oil and gas pipeline projects.
  • Lead development of equipment specifications.
  • Provide facilities engineering and maintenance support for production operations of assigned area.
  • Develop AFE's for area projects and oversee cost tracking and forecasting efforts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 5 or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in electrical modeling program (SKM, ETAP, etc.) for use to conduct power studies is required.
  • Experience working with or alongside public utility companies and their associated processes.
  • Experience with design and troubleshooting of electric motors and related equipment including motor starters, motor protection relay, and variable frequency drives.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, government regulations, standards, pertaining to electrical systems such as NFPA, NEC, and API.
  • Candidate must have strong communication, interpersonal and technical skills, with the proven ability to build relationships and work in a multi-disciplined team. Must have the ability to work in a highly innovative, fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
