Job description

Our Company

Changing the world through digital experiences is what Adobe’s all about. We give everyone—from emerging artists to global brands—everything they need to design and deliver exceptional digital experiences! We’re passionate about empowering people to create beautiful and powerful images, videos, and apps, and transform how companies interact with customers across every screen.

We’re on a mission to hire the very best and are committed to creating exceptional employee experiences where everyone is respected and has access to equal opportunity. We realize that new ideas can come from everywhere in the organization, and we know the next big idea could be yours!

The opportunity

Adobe builds bridges between imagination and expression. As an Experience Designer on the Adobe Podcast team, you'll help craft a groundbreaking web-based podcast creation tool.

Podcast is a new app from Adobe that brings recording and editing together to make podcasting a breeze. Adobe Podcast empowers anyone to tell the world their story, and sound stellar doing it. No fancy equipment or expertise needed!

Our team is stoked to discover fresh ways to build creative tools — challenging the norms of what a creative tool looks like and we are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team

What you’ll do

Collaborate with the lead designer, lead product manager, engineers, and head of Adobe Podcast to design an outstanding creative tool

Design and prototype experiences across Adobe Podcast

Jam with engineers on how your designs are built

Ensure the engineering team’s work meets our high design standards

Work quickly across the design process on multiple projects at a time

Brainstorm both whimsical and practical design concepts

Ensure the design of Adobe Podcast is inclusive and accessible

Communicate clearly with the team, using words, visuals, and sketches

Collaborate with team members in the NYC office frequently

Keep a pulse on industry trends and incorporate fresh ideas into your concepts

What you need to succeed

Must-haves:

3-6 years of experience and/or training as a designer

Past work that shows a robust understanding of interaction design, accompanied by outstanding visual design

A solid hold on how people use technology and an intuitive sense of common usability patterns

Experience designing for web and mobile

Passion for creative tooling and a deep curiosity about podcasts and storytelling

Superb brainstorming and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate design concepts and requirements

Nice-to-haves:

Comprehensive understanding of web technologies

Experience with motion design, 3D, or illustration

Experience working with design systems

Preferred Accessibility Design Skills:

Experience designing accessible and inclusive interfaces for people with disabilities.

Understanding of applying WCAG conformance criteria in design, specifically testing comps, wireframes, and prototypes for accessibility standards.

Accessibility certifications CPACC, WAS, CPWA, or ADS from the IAAP preferred.

Note from the team

“Thanks for checking out this role! I'm really excited for it. You'll join me as the second designer on the team during a trailblazing time for Adobe Podcast. This team is a sandbox for creativity. We're designing AI features and interactions that have little precedent. I think the uncharted waters fuels our team's camaraderie. Brainstorming with Adobe's AI researchers on new models can feel like (and I know this sounds cheesy, but it's true) being handed magical powers. Then it's on us to figure out how to weave them into tools that everyday creators will love. If you think that sounds fun, you should apply.”

How to apply

We would love to hear from you! Please include your resume and a link to your portfolio.
