Job summary

Genesis Resources in Chicago is seeking an experienced Excess & Surplus (E&S) Casualty Underwriter to manage and grow an existing $13-14 million E&S book focused in the Midwest. The role requires strong wholesale broker relationships and deep underwriting expertise.

The successful candidate will underwrite construction-related risks (approx. 60%) and other industries including manufacturing, distribution, real estate and mercantile, while maintaining profitability and disciplined risk

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Excess Casualty Underwriter within the E&S market.
• Established broker relationships, particularly in the wholesale brokerage space.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting principles and risk assessment in construction and other key industries.
• Ability to manage a multi-million dollar book of business while maintaining underwriting discipline.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
