Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Senior Estimator to support major transmission, distribution, and substation projects in the Indianapolis area. The role involves developing competitive estimates, leading proposal efforts, and mentoring junior estimators.

The Senior Estimator will engage in site visits, bid package preparation, and risk assessment, while coordinating with project teams and utility clients to drive successful pursuits and preconstruction strategies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of estimating experience in construction or utility infrastructure.
• Experience estimating transmission, distribution, and/or substation projects.
• Proficiency with construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Bachelor's degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Preparing complete labor, equipment, and material cost estimates.
• Developing responses to RFPs and comprehensive bid packages.
• Performing site visits, field takeoffs, and constructability reviews.
• Building and maintaining relationships with utility clients and stakeholders.
• Leading estimate review meetings with internal and external teams.
• Supporting project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Evaluating risk and identifying value engineering opportunities.
• Reviewing contract documents and coordinating contract redlines.
• Mentoring and supporting junior estimating staff.
• Assisting with change orders, cost tracking, and project closeout analysis

An established and nationally recognized electrical infrastructure contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to support major transmission, distribution, and substation projects in the Indianapolis area. This role will be responsible for developing competitive estimates, leading proposal efforts, supporting business growth, and mentoring junior estimators.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced T&D estimator looking to work on large-scale utility projects while playing a key role in project pursuit strategy and preconstruction efforts.

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for:

• Preparing complete labor, equipment, and material cost estimates
• Developing responses to RFPs and comprehensive bid packages

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Experience preparing work plans and developing competitive bid strategies
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
