BD Executive | Metric Geo | Energy & Power Specialist
A well-established utility contractor specializing in transmission and distribution (T&D) infrastructure is seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to support its growing portfolio of high-voltage and distribution projects. This is a key role within the preconstruction team, focused on delivering accurate, competitive estimates for overhead, underground, and substation utility work.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed takeoffs and develop cost estimates for electric transmission, distribution, and substation projects in accordance with internal standards
- Source and evaluate pricing from approved material vendors, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers
- Compile bid packages and summary sheets for review by management, ensuring all project-specific variables are captured
- Submit scope letters, bid forms, and required documents with accuracy and attention to deadlines
- Generate RFIs to clarify design intent or missing data prior to bid
- Collaborate with field operations and project management during handoff processes
- Conduct site visits as needed to support estimate development and risk analysis
- Work independently or collaboratively to meet critical proposal timelines
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably within utility-scale T&D projects
- Familiarity with NEC
- Proven ability to read and interpret utility plans, one-line diagrams, and construction drawings
- Strong analytical skills for cost modelling, scope analysis, and risk assessment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ConEst or similar estimating software is a plus
- Knowledge of regional utility standards and pricing structures preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with vendors, engineers, and field teams
Salary range: $150,000 – $170,000, depending on experience
