Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for utility construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

• Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify project risks and opportunities during the bidding process.
• Work with project management and operations during preconstruction activities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and bid strategy development.

Utility Senior Estimator (PR/611463) Boston, Massachusetts

Salary: USD140000 - USD190000 per year

Salary: $140,000 - $200,000+ (Dependent on Experience)

Summary:

A leading electrical contractor is seeking Utility Estimators at the Estimator, Senior Estimator, and Chief Estimator levels to support a growing portfolio of utility infrastructure projects. The company is looking for professionals with experience in Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Substations, Power Generation and related utility construction markets.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong backlog of utility work and a significant pipeline of upcoming projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing competitive bids and supporting the continued growth of the utility division.

The Utility Estimator will be responsible for:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for utility construction projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Performing quantity take-offs and developing labor, equipment, and material pricing
• Soliciting and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Identifying project risks and opportunities during the bidding process
• Working closely with project management and operations teams during preconstruction activities
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and bid strategy development

The ideal candidate will have:
