Job summary

Lvi-Associates in Indianapolis is seeking a Senior Estimator to support major transmission, distribution, and substation projects. You will develop competitive estimates, lead proposal efforts, mentor junior estimators, and help drive preconstruction strategy.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of estimating experience in construction or utility infrastructure.
• Experience estimating transmission, distribution, and substations.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction means and methods.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Experience developing competitive bid strategies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete labor, equipment, and material cost estimates.
• Develop responses to RFPs and comprehensive bid packages.
• Perform site visits, field takeoffs, and constructability reviews.
• Build and maintain relationships with utility clients and stakeholders.
• Lead estimate review meetings with internal and external teams.
• Support project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Evaluate risk and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Review contract documents and coordinate contract redlines.
• Mentor and support junior estimating staff.
• Assist with change orders, cost tracking, and project closeout analysis.

Summary

An established and nationally recognized electrical infrastructure contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to support major transmission, distribution, and substation projects in the Indianapolis area. This role will be responsible for developing competitive estimates, leading proposal efforts, supporting business growth, and mentoring junior estimators.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced T&D estimator looking to work on large-scale utility projects while playing a key role in project pursuit strategy and preconstruction efforts.

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for:

• Preparing complete labor, equipment, and material cost estimates
• Developing responses to RFPs and comprehensive bid packages
• Performing site visits, field takeoffs, and constructability reviews
