Job summary

Keeley Construction Group is seeking a Senior Estimator for the Heavy Civil Group in New Braunfels, TX. You will lead estimates, coordinate bid packages, and oversee capital bids, ensuring accurate takeoffs and competitive pricing.

Ideal candidates hold a construction-related bachelor’s degree with 5–7+ years in heavy civil estimating, including water/wastewater projects. Strong MS Office and estimating software skills are required, with commitment to client satisfaction and high-volume bidding.

Qualifications

Keeley Construction is looking to hire a Sr Estimator for our Heavy Civil Group in New Braunfels, TX.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for estimates and proposals including cost analysis, estimate coordination, as well as development and review of trade takeoffs and internal pricing.
• Oversee all capital bids before submission.
• Delegate new customer opportunities within estimating team.
• Evaluate subcontract cost estimates and proposals, as well as preparing/reviewing self-perform estimates, and assembling final estimate for owner.
• Drive and maintain all National Opportunities Reporting.
• Perform productivity analysis of cost estimates, comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between projects.
• Negotiate with and engage in subcontract solicitation during the bidding process and maintain master subcontractor/vendor lists by trade.
• Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Exceed expectations with excellent customer service, operational excellence, and strategic insight.
• Maintain company quality standards with subcontractors and vendors while performing in a high-volume bid environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field plus a minimum of 5-7 years of experience performing primary responsibilities listed above.
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel, and Word, along with estimating software.
• Demonstrated experience with heavy civil construction projects, specifically water/wastewater treatment plants and process piping.
• Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, vendors, and clients.
• Exceptional time management and customer relation skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to assist with writing proposals and reports.
