Job summary

Keeley Construction in Dallas, TX is seeking a Sr Estimator for our Heavy Civil Group to lead cost estimates, coordinate takeoffs, and oversee capital bids for water and wastewater projects.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Construction Management or Engineering, 5–7 years of estimating experience, strong Excel/Outlook/Word skills, and proven ability to manage multiple bids with vendors and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field with 5–7 years of estimating experience.
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel, and Word; experience with estimating software.
• Experience with heavy civil projects, water/wastewater plants and process piping.
• Ability to build positive relationships with staff, vendors, and clients.
• Strong time management and customer-relations skills.
• High attention to detail and proposal/report writing ability.

Keeley Construction is looking to hire a Sr Estimator for our Heavy Civil Group in Dallas, TX.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for estimates and proposals including cost analysis, estimate coordination, as well as development and review of trade takeoffs and internal pricing.
• Oversee all capital bids before submission.
• Delegate new customer opportunities within estimating team.
• Evaluate subcontract cost estimates and proposals, as well as preparing/reviewing self-perform estimates, and assembling final estimate for owner.
• Drive and maintain all National Opportunities Reporting.
• Perform productivity analysis of cost estimates, comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between projects.
• Negotiate with and engage in subcontract solicitation during the bidding process and maintain master subcontractor/vendor lists by trade.
• Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Exceed expectations with excellent customer service, operational excellence, and strategic insight.
• Maintain company quality standards with subcontractors and vendors while performing in a high-volume bid environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field plus a minimum of 5-7 years of experience performing primary responsibilities listed above.
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel, and Word, along with estimating software.
• Demonstrated experience with heavy civil construction projects, specifically water/wastewater treatment plants and process piping.
• Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, vendors, and clients.
• Exceptional time management and customer relation skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to assist with writing proposals and reports.
