Job summary

Axcelis Technologies in Beverly, MA seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and develop electronic hardware for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will lead electro-mechanical system projects, ensure rigorous design reviews, and maintain conformance to SEMI standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, 5+ years of hardware design experience, and strong communication. Proficiency in Altium, PADS, PSpice and Creo tools is highly preferred; Windchill is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical/electronic hardware design as an individual contributor.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience conducting technical design reviews with a larger group.
• Experience working with engineering change notices in formal change process.
• Experience in systems engineering, high-voltage, RF power, PCB design or Power Distribution.
• Design skills with Altium, PADS, PSpice.
• Experience with Creo Schematic/Creo Cabling; AutoCAD is a plus.
• Windchill experience a plus.
• Semiconductor capital equipment experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and hardware systems.
• Execute engineering projects and development of electromechanical systems including power distribution, vacuum systems, high voltage, control systems, robotics, safety interlocks and electro-static chuck technologies.
• Ensure adherence to development processes including requirements planning, schedules, reviews, verification, and validation test plans.
• Provide electrical engineering interface to design services groups and offshore teams for quality designs and on-time performance.
• Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct tests and evaluate results.
• Ensure designs meet safety, SEMI, and customer requirements.
• Select components and equipment based on specifications and reliability.
• Review vendor capabilities to support product development.

• Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications.


• Execute engineering projects and development of electromechanical systems including power distribution, vacuum systems, high voltage, control systems, robotics, safety interlocks and electro-static chuck technologies.


• Ensures adherence to the development process including requirements planning, schedule estimates, concept reviews, design reviews, verification, and validation test plans.


• Provide electrical engineering interface to the design services group and to offshore teams to deliver quality designs and on-time performance.


• Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.


• Ensures designs meet design objectives as well as safety, industry (SEMI), and customer specific requirements.


• Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.


• May also review vendor capability to support product development.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related required.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience of electrical/electronic hardware design as an individual contributor.
