Job summary

Axcelis Technologies in Beverly, MA seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and develop electronic hardware for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will lead electro-mechanical system projects, ensure rigorous design reviews, and maintain conformance to SEMI standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, 5+ years of hardware design experience, and strong communication. Proficiency in Altium, PADS, PSpice and Creo tools is highly preferred; Windchill is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
Minimum of 5 years of electrical/electronic hardware design as an individual contributor.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience conducting technical design reviews with a larger group.
Experience working with engineering change notices in formal change process.
Experience in systems engineering, high-voltage, RF power, PCB design or Power Distribution.
Design skills with Altium, PADS, PSpice.
Experience with Creo Schematic/Creo Cabling; AutoCAD is a plus.
Windchill experience a plus.
Semiconductor capital equipment experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and hardware systems.
Execute engineering projects and development of electromechanical systems including power distribution, vacuum systems, high voltage, control systems, robotics, safety interlocks and electro-static chuck technologies.
Ensure adherence to development processes including requirements planning, schedules, reviews, verification, and validation test plans.
Provide electrical engineering interface to design services groups and offshore teams for quality designs and on-time performance.
Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct tests and evaluate results.
Ensure designs meet safety, SEMI, and customer requirements.
Select components and equipment based on specifications and reliability.
Review vendor capabilities to support product development.
