Job summary

Aerosonic in Clearwater, FL is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to translate design requirements into robust avionics boards, including schematic capture, layout and testing for DO-178C/DO-254 compliance.

The role emphasizes system integration, collaboration with manufacturing for test support, and a disciplined development process. A Bachelor’s in EE and 7+ years aerospace board design experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, physics or related engineering fields.
• Minimum seven years of board design experience, preferably in aerospace.
• Solid knowledge of aerospace and FAA requirements.
• Experience with Altium, PADS or Allegro PCB layouts.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate design requirements into analog and digital board designs with component selection, simulation, schematic capture, layout and test procedures for avionics products.
• System integration to ensure proper function of integrated boards in the platform.
• Review PCB layouts with Altium, PADS or Allegro; PCB layout experience is a plus.
• Interface with in-house manufacturing for production test support and troubleshooting.
• Emphasize a structured development process to meet DO-178C / DO-254 guidelines.

Job Summary

Responsible for translation of design requirements into analog and digital board designs - complete with component selection, simulation, schematic capture, layout, documentation and development of test procedures for avionics products.

• System integration to ensure proper function of integrated boards in the intended platform
• Review of PCB layouts with Altium, PADS or Allegro - PCB layout experience is a plus
• Ability to interface with in-house manufacturing for production test support and troubleshooting

Education/Previous Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, physics or related engineering fields
• Experience in design and implementation for aerospace applications.Familiarity with various data and power bus architectures and implementation of micro-processors
• A minimum of seven years in board design, preferably from aerospace organization
• Solid analytical skills
• Working knowledge of aerospace and FAA requirements
• Strong analytical and communication skills for evaluating information and providing to the customer
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
