Job summary

Egis, a leading international engineering firm, is seeking a seasoned Drainage Engineer for NC highway and stormwater projects. You may work remotely within North Carolina through a Hybrid Remote Work Agreement or operate from our Raleigh office.

You will develop designs, perform calculations, coordinate with staff and clients, manage documentation, and support business development to help build a more sustainable infrastructure future for North Carolina.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of drainage design experience.
  • North Carolina PE license required.
  • BSCE required.
  • NCDOT drainage design experience with Microstation/Open Roads/ICPR/ASAD.
  • Experience estimating proposals and fee schedules.
  • Ability to prepare client reports and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop highway and interstate drainage and stormwater projects.
  • Perform drainage engineering calculations from preliminary to final design.
  • Develop plans, specs, reports, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with project staff, sub-consultants, Florida Department of Transportation, and reviewers to ensure quality of work.
  • Manage and maintain project documentation, including meeting project schedules, budgets, and scope.
  • Responsible for client development and fostering a relationship with clients.
  • Lead and/or assist in proposal, scope of work, and fee schedule preparation.

The Impact You'll Make:
  • Candidate may work remotely within North Carolina through a Hybrid Remote Work Agreement or may work out of our Raleigh Office.
  • Responsible for the development of highway and interstate drainage and stormwater improvement projects.
  • Direct and/or perform drainage engineering calculations from preliminary to final design.
  • Direct and/or develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with project staff, other disciplines and sub-consultants, Florida Department of Transportation, and reviewers to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  • Manage and maintain project documentation, including meeting project schedules, budgets, and scope
  • Responsible for client development and fostering a relationship with clients
  • Lead and/or assist in proposal, scope of work, and fee schedule preparation
  • Attend on-site and off-site client meetings throughout North Carolina
The Expertise You'll Bring:
  • 8+ years of drainage design experience required
  • North Carolina PE is required
  • BSCE is required
  • NCDOT drainage design experience required with competence in Microstation, Open Roads Designer, ICPR v3/v4, ASAD, and other stormwater modeling software
  • Experience in engineering projects to be able to analyze project progress to be in conformance with project budgets, quality, scope of work, client, and sub-consultant issues is a plus, but not necessary
  • Able to prepare or assist in the preparation of proposals, score of work, and fee schedules, is a plus, but not necessary
  • Able to prepare or assist in the preparation and maintenance of client reporting such as status reports and other writing or verbal communications to the client, is a plus, but not necessary
