SOAProjects, Inc. is seeking a founding accounting leader in Santa Clara to build and scale the finance function for a fabless semiconductor and AI infrastructure company.

You will own revenue recognition under ASC 606, manage cost accounting for wafer-based operations, and lead audits and spin-off clean-up, while running monthly close in SAP and aligning with planning. • Comfortable in an early-stage, hands-on environment with ownership of strategy and execution.
• Onsite in Santa Clara five days per week.

Our client is a fabless semiconductor and AI infrastructure company that spun out about a year ago. It sells chips and solutions to customers, has raised roughly $500M, and projects about $100M in revenue next year. We recently moved from QuickBooks to SAP. This role is a founding hire in our accounting function.

About the Role

You will lead accounting at a fast-growing semiconductor start-up. You will build on the accounting foundation that exists, clean up the loose ends from our spin-off, and prepare us for the scale we are about to reach. It’s a hands-on role in a start-up, so you will wear many hats.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Recognition & Revenue Operations (top priority)

• Own revenue recognition under ASC 606 for chip and solution sales, including our pre-NPI product offerings
• Partner with Sales and Operations on contracts, order-to-cash and revenue operations processes

Cost Accounting (top priority)

• Own cost accounting for a fabless semiconductor model, including the wafer process, standard costs, inventory valuation and COGS
• Work with Operations and Procurement on product sourced through our contract manufacturer (Flex), including cost roll-ups, variances and inventory reserves

Audit, Technical Accounting & Clean-up

• Support the current audit and complete outstanding GAAP items, including technical accounting memos
• Lead spin-off clean-up work, including separation of balances and transactions
• Own stock-based compensation accounting and reporting
• Roll forward all workpapers for 2026

Close, Controls & Systems

• Run the monthly close and financial reporting in SAP, and improve processes and controls as we scale
• Work with the Controller, FP&A & the SVP of Finance to keep accounting aligned with planning

Qualifications

• Director-level accounting leadership, ideally at a semiconductor or networking company
• Strong revenue recognition (ASC 606) and technical accounting skills
• Cost accounting experience, including wafer cost, standard costing and inventory for a fabless model
• Some audit experience (public accounting or managing external audits)
• Experience with SAP; start-up experience a plus
• Comfortable in an early-stage, hands-on environment, with ownership of both strategy and execution
• Ability to work onsite in Santa Clara five days per week
