As Director of Data Analytics at Lumentum, you will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of enterprise data analytics. You will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that shape business strategy and operational excellence across the company. You will also drive the governance and quality of our enterprise data assets, while enabling innovation through AI and advanced analytics.
This high-impact leadership role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
The Director of Analytics will report to the Chief Transformation Officer.
Responsibilities
- Lead and Scale Analytics Function: Provide visionary leadership to evolve the analytics platform and team, enabling scalable, modern analytics capabilities across Lumentum.
- Drive Enterprise Data Strategy: Define and implement a robust data strategy that promotes data accessibility, trustworthiness, and strategic use company-wide.
- Insights for Strategic Decision-Making: Partner with executive leadership to deliver high-impact insights, establish KPIs, and build dashboards that align with corporate goals and track long-term performance.
- AI and Advanced Analytics: Champion the adoption and governance of AI/ML within analytics initiatives. Establish standardized workflows, best practices, and deliver measurable business value through advanced techniques.
- Data Governance and Quality: Own the data curation and governance functions, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of enterprise datasets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, ensuring that data and insights are integral to strategic planning and execution across functions.
- Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of data engineers, analysts, and data scientists. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Toolset Ownership: Own the strategy for business intelligence and data tooling (e.g., AWS, OBIEE, Databricks, Tableau), ensuring alignment with business needs and technology roadmap.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership in data analytics, with a strong track record of building and scaling analytics teams and platforms.
- Deep expertise in modern data architecture and governance (e.g., data lakes, pipelines, modeling).
- Strong experience with BI/visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to define and implement enterprise KPIs, OKRs, and measurement frameworks.
- Proven success in delivering actionable insights to executive leadership in a complex business environment.
- Solid understanding of statistical modeling, data science, and experimental design.
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Additional Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience implementing data management strategies such as Data Mesh or federated data governance.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, SDLC for data workflows, and modern cloud data ecosystems.
- Proven track record of leading AI/ML initiatives that drive tangible business outcomes.
- Comfortable operating in a high-growth, fast-paced, and evolving environment.
Pay Range:
P90-USA-1 :$156,800.00 - $224,000.00
