Job description

The Director of Estimating must be an energetic, self-motivated, and innovative individual with the skills to develop and execute estimating tasks and deliverables. The role requires a collaborative team player and a strong leader to foster collaboration across all groups within CRB. She/he will create brand differentiation and pre-eminence for CRB in the market by working with teams to drive and support project estimating expertise, excellence, and standardization.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement innovative/disruptive project estimating standards, processes, and solutions across CRB.
2. Drive a culture of continuous estimating learning and improvement to maximize CRB’s risk/reward value proposition.
3. Create and own the strategy and priorities for CRB's estimating expertise and specialty differentiation, and promote this throughout the business.
4. Develop and manage CRB’s commercial project estimating standards and processes.
5. Promote design and construction estimating and cost awareness within CRB’s culture.
6. Provide leadership in project estimating across CRB.
7. Ensure project estimating training is integrated into CRB’s career development and staff growth.
8. Support recruiting and staffing of the Corporate Estimating Team.
9. Participate in estimating staff performance reviews.
10. Develop the annual business plan for Estimating.
11. Approve estimating department costs, including software and expenses.
12. Participate actively on the Risk Committee for proposals.
13. Capably serve as a Lead Estimator when workload demands.
14. Collaborate with Directors of Cost Control, Planning/Scheduling, and Project Management to coordinate LEAN integrated design and construction processes and practices.
