Job summary

Johnson Controls in Milwaukee seeks a senior integration engineer to lead complex Azure-based integration initiatives for enterprise-scale environments. You will architect, design, and deliver scalable solutions using Azure Integration Services, API Management, and microservices patterns, while guiding teams and ensuring security and governance.

Qualifications

• 6 to 9 years of hands-on integration development experience in complex delivery environments.
• Strong expertise in Azure Integration Services.
• Advanced experience with Azure API Management.
• Solid programming skills in C#, .NET, REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
• Ability to create Low-Level and High-Level Designs.
• Understanding of event-driven, distributed, and microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Advanced troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot or M365 Copilot and AI-assisted development workflows.
• Experience with MuleSoft architecture, migrations, or coexistence preferred.
• Exposure to AI/ML integration use cases and intelligent automation preferred.
• Knowledge of enterprise security, API governance, and compliance frameworks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of complex, large-scale integration solutions using Azure Integration Services.
• Design and deliver scalable, production-ready enterprise integrations.
• Create reusable frameworks and shared components to speed up delivery.
• Design enterprise APIs with Azure API Management and configure APIM policies.
• Own Low-Level Design activities for modules and components.
• Translate business needs into scalable technical designs.
• Ensure compliance with architecture standards and best practices.
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Automate build, deploy, and release using Infrastructure as Code.
• Strengthen release reliability and governance.
• Lead testing and root-cause analysis; support incidents.
• Implement observability with Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Provide technical leadership and code/design reviews.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Contribute in agile delivery environments.
