Job summary

Delphi-US, LLC - Peacemakers in the Talent War is seeking an End User Computing Consultant in Chicago for a hybrid, on-site role. The contractor will package, deploy, and support end-user applications and desktop/mobile experiences, working 3 days per week on-site.

You will manage profiles with VMware UEM/DEM, troubleshoot production issues, and influence the End User experience roadmap through data-driven improvements.

  • Experience packaging software for enterprise deployment.
  • Experience with Windows profile management and VMware Horizon in a VDI environment.

Responsibilities

  • Package and deploy applications for end-user environments using VMware AppStacks.
  • Manage and preserve end-user profile settings with VMware UEM/DEM.
  • Troubleshoot installation, performance, and runtime issues on desktop and mobile.
  • Maintain OS base builds with updates, patches and vulnerability remediation.
  • Lead meetings with Business, IT and Security to define requirements and changes.
  • Drive innovation in end-user experience with data-driven proposals.
  • Apply EUC concepts to complex technical assignments and processes.
  • Design and implement automation for end-user workflows.
  • Develop software to support end-user engineering objectives.
  • Troubleshoot production issues in desktop and mobile apps across platforms.
  • Resolve cross-system integration and compatibility challenges.
  • Evaluate and recommend app packages and testing tools.
  • Contribute to the End User experience roadmap and on-call support.

Job description

End User Computing Consultant | Location: Chicago, IL, Hybrid | Contract | Hourly Pay Range: $60-$80

End User Computing Consultant role focused on packaging, deploying, and supporting end user applications and desktop/mobile experiences in an on-site environment (3 days/week). You’ll work with VMware AppStacks and VMware UEM/DEM to manage profiles, troubleshoot production issues, and help shape the End User experience roadmap through data-driven improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Packages and deploys applications for the end user environment using VMware AppStacks.
  • Manages and preserves end user profile settings using VMware UEM/DEM.
  • Troubleshoots application installation, performance, and runtime issues across desktop and mobile environments.
  • Maintains OS base builds, including feature updates, software patches, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Leads and supports meetings with Business, IT, and Security stakeholders to define requirements and communicate environment changes.
  • Identifies and drives innovation in the end user experience by challenging legacy processes with data-driven proposals.
  • Applies expert-level EUC concepts, processes, and procedures to complex technical assignments.
  • Designs and implements automation solutions within the end user experience space.
  • Designs, develops, debugs, and implements software in support of end user engineering objectives.
  • Troubleshoots production issues related to desktop and mobile software applications.
  • Resolves systems integration, compatibility, and multi-platform challenges.
  • Evaluates and recommends application software packages, integration approaches, and testing tools.
  • Provides tactical and strategic input on the overall End User experience roadmap.
  • Participates in on-call support rotation per assigned schedule.
  • Documents changes, policies, procedures, and architecture diagrams.
  • Provides cross-training and mentoring to team members.
  • Project manages and leads multiple concurrent projects across varying sizes and timelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in written and verbal form to audiences ranging from end users to executive leadership.
  • Structured problem-solving skills with ability to articulate issues, root causes, solution options, and recommended path forward.
  • Experience leading or managing at least one cross-functional project from initiation through delivery.
  • Comfort working independently with minimal supervision while also contributing as part of a team.
  • Availability for on-call rotation per team schedule.
  • Experience supporting Windows desktop OS environments (Windows 10/11 in an enterprise domain).
  • Experience deploying applications across enterprise desktops using modern tools.
  • Experience writing and maintaining scripts in PowerShell, Python, Bash, or VBScript.
  • Experience packaging software for enterprise deployment.
  • Experience with Windows profile management.
  • Hands‑on experience building and maintaining a VDI environment using VMware Horizon.
  • Experience in a desktop engineering or dedicated end user experience engineering role.
  • Demonstrated ability to package applications using VMware AppStacks for VDI environments.
  • Ability to configure and manage VMware UEM/DEM for end user profile and environment settings.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve desktop and mobile application issues in a production enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience maintaining OS base builds including security patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Ability to design, write, and deploy automated workflows or scripts that measurably reduce manual effort.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly related field, or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a regulated financial services or capital markets environment.
  • Familiarity with ITIL service management practices.
  • Experience with enterprise observability or monitoring tools.
  • VMware Certified Professional – Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM) and Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator (MD-102).
