Job summary

T-Mobile is seeking a seasoned designer/developer to build and evolve an AI-powered design system across Mint Mobile and Ultra Mobile ecosystems. You will work with designers, engineers, and partners to accelerate component creation, maintain libraries, tokens, and documentation, ensuring accessibility and brand consistency.

You will leverage Claude and Codex to craft high-fidelity prototypes and scalable UI patterns, while contributing to production-ready implementations and AI-enabled design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/WEB/Software Eng plus 5 years related experience, or advanced degree with 3 years experience.
• Other acceptable areas: Digital Design and HCI Design.
• 4–7 years of experience in Interaction Design or Front-End development.
• Proficiency using AI tools like Claude and Codex for high-fidelity prototypes and UI patterns.
• Strong front-end coding skills to validate and optimize AI-generated design system libraries.

Responsibilities

• Use AI tools to accelerate component generation, documentation, workflows, prototypes, and UI solutions for engineering.
• Lead development of design tokens, reusable components, UI patterns, and architecture.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, Experience Design teams, and Design System Manager on requirements and workflows.
• Research and contribute to front-end implementation of complex UI patterns and components.
• Turn prototypes into production-ready solutions across applications and teams.
• Drive design system adoption, consistency, and workflows.
• Create Figma plugins and processes to improve designer/developer efficiency.
• Create technical docs for tokens, components, patterns, and usage guidelines.

The role uses AI-driven workflows to accelerate component creation, maintain component libraries, design tokens, and documentation, and support multi-functional product delivery. The position works with designers, engineers, and product partners to drive scalable experiences and AI-enabled design operations while maintaining usability, accessibility, and brand consistency.

What you’ll do

• Use AI tools to accelerate component generation, documentation, workflows, interactive prototypes, and functional component solutions for engineering implementation
• Lead development and refinement of design tokens, reusable components, UI patterns, and component architecture
• Partner with designers, engineers, Experience Design teams, Engineering Enablement Lanes, and the Design System Manager on requirements, constraints, and implementation workflows
• Research, build, and contribute to initial front-end implementation of complex UI patterns, components, and interactive experiences
• Collaborate with engineering teams to turn prototypes into production-ready solutions across applications and teams
• Drive design system adoption, consistency, innovation, and implementation workflows
• Build Figma plugins and contribution processes to improve designer and developer efficiency
• Create technical documentation for tokens, components, patterns, and usage guidelines

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or certification in Computer Science, Web Development, or Software Engineering plus 5 years of related work experience, or advanced degree with 3 years of related experience
• Other acceptable areas of study include Digital Design and Human-Computer Interaction Design
• 4-7 years of related experience in Interaction Design or Front-End development creating solutions for ecommerce websites and native apps
• High proficiency using AI tools like Claude and Codex to create high-fidelity interactive prototypes and complex UI patterns
• High proficiency in front-end development, including writing, reviewing, and auditing code to validate and optimize AI-generated design system libraries and component implementations
• Strong understanding of design principles, modern UI patterns, elements, interactions, responsive web design, and accessibility standards
• Ability to design and develop adaptable interfaces and components across devices, screen sizes, and platforms
• Ability to create modular, reusable component systems and patterns
