Fordham University is seeking a Law School Financial Aid Assistant to support a busy office of financial aid professionals. You will handle inquiries, monitor student accounts, and maintain documents and reports, contributing to efficient operations.
The role requires strong organizational skills, confidentiality, and proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerFAIDS, and Banner, with occasional evening hours.

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid, the Law School Financial Aid Assistant will support a busy office of financial aid professionals in all aspects of law school financial aid, including office reception, notifications, communications, and administration.
Assists with most aspects of the administration and operation of the Law School’s Financial Aid Office.
Provides the first line of communication with current and prospective students, handling student inquiries in person, by e-mail, and phone in coordination with other staff members.
Monitors students’ accounts and contacts them regarding required documents and problems with processing their federal financial aid.
Creates and maintains spreadsheets and reports concerning student documents and statuses.
Resolves financial aid issues, contacting and working with the University’s Student Enrollment Services Department when necessary.
Maintains confidential student files for current students and for 3 years after graduation.
Provides support to the Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid and the Office of Development by assisting with the identification and coordination of student recipients for named scholarships.
Updates the Financial Aid website and the Law School’s LawNet portal in coordination with other staff members.
Provides general clerical support and related duties.
Works until 6:00 p.m. 2 nights a week.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
High School Diploma.
2 years of relevant work experience.
Well‑organized and an independent worker, able to follow through on projects and assignments with little supervision.
Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to represent the Financial Aid Office to Law Students, both prospective and enrolled.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerFAIDS; familiarity with the Banner database system.
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
Demonstrated Writing Ability.
Mandatory Competency Testing.
Bachelor’s degree.
Clerical work experience in a college or university setting.
